Interactive Signage
Digital signage screen, acts as a dynamic, living landmark based on real data.
A part of our work with the visual identity and branding for Gjensidige was to make their new home in the center of Oslo living up to the brand. Gjensidiges long history with the term «time» triggered the idea for a quite different sign on their building – a live one.
We wanted to build a bridge from their history, their symbol and the old slogan «As time goes on – Gjensidige will remain» to the company’s new communication concept is «Life happens, for good and for bad – it’s good to be prepared». We wanted to make the sign relevant and politely present in peoples lifes.
The solution was a sign that is actually a huge LED-screen. The huge screen has a programmed schedule of different visuals and statements that changes over time and based on real life data.
It ranges from the logo, the clock, the current weather and temperature to more personal messages like «Good morning, Oslo» at dawn and «Good night, Oslo» just before midnight. Holidays and special occations are celebrated with illustrations and short, personal messages through out the day. From halloween pumpkins, to friendly reminders of Fathers day.
We have also designed a concept to make use of different realtime data, to generate even more relevant messages. On a hot summer night, with a forecast of no rain the sign will tell you when the next ferry to the summer islands are leaving the dock. On a cold winter morning with subzero temperatures, the sign will remind you to drive safely. On the night of the world cup semifinal, it will tell you the results.
